Triton cements second place in 4WD Diesel segment for Fieldays sales period (April – June) with strong final month result.
Triton Run-Out promotion launches 1 August.
Mitsubishi’s 4WD Triton Diesel has placed second within the industry’s largest ute segment – for June sales and for overall sales across the first quarter of FY2018, registering 426 and 953 units respectively.
Triton’s upward momentum is the latest milestone in a sustained period of growth for Mitsubishi Motors NZ (MMNZ). The return of the popular 4WD GLS model to MMNZ’s range in the form of the Black Edition, as part of a hugely successful Fieldays promotion, has helped propel the ute up the rankings.
“More and more Kiwis are looking to combine the luxuries of a lifestyle vehicle with the capability of a ute; Triton offers the best of both worlds at exceptional value,” said Reece Congdon, MMNZ Head of Marketing & Corporate Affairs. “Our Triton GLS Black Edition has been a surefire hit with customers since its unveiling for Fieldays, and has been the star performer of our ten-strong 4WD range this quarter.
“Recognised as much for its ability as its lean price tag, Triton has proved it is right on target in what is a highly competitive category.”
2WD to follow suite
While Triton 4WD has raced ahead, Congdon said that 2WD sales have been restrained due to limited stock.
“We’re pleased to announce that our recent supply issues are behind us. A new shipment is now ashore, and we have a sharp run-out offer on the 2WD GLX-R starting 1 August. We are confident that 2WD sales will quickly follow in the tracks of the 4WD’s success.”
The Triton Run-out offer features the 2WD GLX-R Double Cab Manual for $29,990 (plus On-Road Costs) with the automatic available for $31,990 (plus On-Road Costs).
The five-star safety rated 2WD GLX-R features an efficient 2.4L Turbo Diesel engine with 7.1L/100km fuel economy, 17” alloys, sports suspension, cruise control, a reversing camera and daytime running lights.
On top of all the GLX-R extras, standard features include Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) and New Zealand’s leading new car warranty, Diamond Advantage, which all add up to make this package a highly compelling offer.
