AWD Eclipse Cross models enter NZ orbit

New VRX and XLS All-Wheel Drive models complete a stellar line-up for Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand’s brightest young star.

Eclipse Cross – MMNZ’s smart and stylish compact SUV – now boasts a full range for Kiwi motorists to choose from. AWD models bearing VRX and XLS badges join their 2WD counterparts this month.

Featuring Mitsubishi’s advanced Super All-Wheel Control, Eclipse Cross AWD models offer superior handling and control on top of stunning design and an array of smart technology.

“We are thrilled to now be able to present the full Eclipse Cross range to Kiwi drivers,” said Daniel Cook, MMNZ general manager of vehicle sales and marketing.

“The 2WD models have proved an instant hit since arriving in December. Already a star performer in the compact SUV segment, the addition of All-Wheel Drive capability makes Eclipse Cross a more compelling proposition than ever.”

AWD – all day, all night

Mitsubishi Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) integrates ABS, ASC and brake-activated Active Yaw Control into one smart package, delivering an optimum balance between traction and steering control, cornering and braking performance for superior handling on most road surfaces.

S-AWC has three modes:

  • Normal: 4WD performance across most conditions.

  • Snow: Best suited for snowy conditions and greater stability on slippery roads.

  • Gravel: High-traction off-road ability.

Additionally, the AWD XLS features LED headlamps with an auto levelling device and an electronic chromic rearview mirror, which automatically reduces discomfort and glare from bright lights.

AWD VRX and XLS models go on sale from April 2, with prices starting at $43,690 + ORC for the XLS while the premium VRX model is priced at $47,590 + ORC.
