OUR TEAM

Marty Dinniss
Managing Director
Marty formed Dinniss Communications with his father Philip in 2004 and has since taken over management of the company.
Marty’s wealth of public relations knowledge, combined with his managerial background in education and the elite sport and recreation industry, offers clients a broad range of organisational and strategic communications skills and experience.
He regularly provides a calm head in a crisis and has a strong track record in providing robust communications strategies for businesses ranging from large multinationals to local owner-operators.
Marty has the added advantage of being able to test his negotiating skills at home with his wife and two daughters; when those skills work well, he can usually be found on a mountain bike, a windsurfing board or a pair of skis.

Dave Simmons
Director of Operations
Dave provides expert guidance to the whole team and supports the full range of client work Dinniss Communications undertakes. His watchful eye and strategic acumen help ensure the wide variety of content we produce meets a high level of consistency in terms of messaging, brand identity and quality.
With 20 years’ industry experience covering journalism, B2B and B2C communications, publication design, print and video production, Dave’s skills and knowledge offer diversity and expertise to our clients’ activities.
With an MA in English to his name from King’s College London, Dave operates a zero tolerance policy when it comes to poor grammar and punctuation – no comma dare be out of place on his watch and don’t even get him started on the collective singular!
In his spare time, Dave can be found enjoying the sunshine of the Kapiti Coast – in between house renovations, volunteering for the HUHA horse team and trying to be better at CrossFit.

Meagan Robertson
Senior Account Manager
After ten years with Dinniss, Meagan has developed a keen understanding of how best to achieve her clients’ goals – be it in print, online, an eDM campaign or a video testimonial. She thrives on adding value for her clients, while building strong relationships with them and their customers.
A former reporter, Meagan brings journalistic passion and genuine curiosity to her work and thoroughly enjoys the interviewing process. She has a combined honours in journalism, French and Spanish, and spent several years before moving to New Zealand travelling and writing in three languages.
Meagan’s friendly, outgoing personality is a natural fit for her role in establishing relationships and encouraging others to share their stories. This extends to work to her volunteer work, which sees her encouraging women and girls to take up and advance in mountain biking.
Meagan, who recently had a little girl of her own, packs in as much as she can outside work, enjoying family time, tearing up Wellington's mountain bike tracks and playing volleyball.
Dan Sharpe
Visual Design Lead
With a strong background in graphic design, Dan is a creative all-rounder with experience in illustration, photography, motion graphics and videography.
Dan spent his time post-graduation – with a BA (Hons) Product Design to his name – developing graphic design and illustration skills, working with brands including Reebok, Desperados Beer and The London Ski & Snowboard Show. He has also exhibited artwork at venues including the prestigious M&C Saatchi offices in London.
A need to document his exhibited artwork, printed products and painted murals sparked an interest in photography that now spans sport, product, brand and landscape. A progression into video has naturally followed.
Outside work, Dan can be found up high in the Wellington hills on his mountain bike, scouting new locations to capture local mountain bike racing.
Greta Sutcliffe
Digital Account Executive
With a BA in Media Studies and a PGDip in Communications, Greta has an adaptable skillset with which to support the broad range of client work that Dinniss undertakes – particularly in the digital sphere.
Greta’s exceptional organisational skills ensure the day-to-day running of the team and office is a well-oiled machine, while her analytical aptitude brings a reassuring attention to detail to the project and data management requirements of various client campaigns.
Outside of the office, Greta unwinds by cooking, baking and gym time. If she’s feeling fancy, she might even throw a cheese and wine night into the mix – they’re always a huge success.
Russell Hughes
Content Coordinator
With a BA in Journalism and an MA in International Politics from Newcastle University and commercial writing experience across a broad range of topics and industries in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Russell has developed a nose for a story and an engaging, adaptable style.
An MA in International Politics stems from a keen interest in world affairs, but his first passion is for the written word – a natural enthusiasm he brings to the varied print and digital content we produce for our clients’ audiences.
Outside of work, he’ll usually be on a pitch or court doing something that involves running around looking sweaty – cricket and Gaelic football in the summer, rugby and mixed netball in the winter – or trying to look cool (a work in progress) on a surf or skateboard.
